In many homes, it is one of the top signs of failing drainage, and it usually means the system is no longer moving runoff away from the property as it should. Left alone, a drainage issue can affect paving, landscaping, subfloors, retaining walls and, in some cases, compliance obligations.
The challenge is that drainage problems do not always start with a dramatic collapse or obvious blockage. More often, they show up as small changes around the property – a soggy patch near a pit, staining on external walls, or gutters that overflow in moderate rain.
